Sabbath Sermon Experience 9-26-2026
What does it mean to truly see Jesus in the middle of our deepest need? This message takes us into one of the most striking encounters in the Gospel of Luke, where a man covered entirely in leprosy pushes through every barrier, every social rule, every voice telling him to stay back, just to get close to Christ. Leprosy in the ancient world was not merely a physical condition. It was a sentence. It cut a person off from family, from community, from worship, from any sense of belonging. It was treated as a living symbol of sin itself, and there was virtually no record of anyone ever being healed of it. Yet this man heard something about Jesus that lit a small flame of faith inside him, and he refused to let it go out. The spiritual lesson here is profound: faith does not wait for perfect conditions. It moves. It presses forward even when the crowd pulls back. And when this man finally falls on his face before Jesus and says, Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean, he is modeling something we are all invited into, complete surrender of our own will, paired with absolute confidence in the power and compassion of Christ.
