What do we do when life hands us a mountain too steep to climb or a river too wide to cross? This message takes us deep into the story of a remarkable woman in 2 Kings chapter 8 whose faith was tested not once, not twice, but repeatedly. She had already walked through the grief of childlessness, the miracle of a son given against all odds, and the devastating loss of that same child before witnessing his restoration to life. Just when we might expect her story to settle into peace, God calls her to pack up everything she knows and sojourn in a foreign land for seven years with no fixed address and no guarantee of comfort. What makes her story so powerful is not the miracles themselves but her response to each command. She arose immediately. She did not question. She did not negotiate. She simply obeyed. The central spiritual lesson here is that the measure of our prosperity and success is not our circumstances but our obedience to the word of God. Joshua 1 verse 7 reinforces this truth, reminding us that turning neither to the right nor to the left from God's instruction is the very path to flourishing wherever we go. When we face our next mountain, the call is the same: arise, depart, trust, and move.
