Sabbath Sermon Experience 5-23-2026

May 23, 2026    Sis Florette Beersingh

This powerful message centers on one of the most hope-filled promises in Scripture: the second coming of Jesus Christ. Drawing from passages like Isaiah 25:9, Revelation 3:20, and 1 Thessalonians 4:16, we're reminded that a day is coming when all our troubles will end and we'll be reunited with our Savior forever. The sermon challenges us to examine our readiness for Christ's return, asking not just if we're waiting, but how we're preparing. Are we cultivating a daily relationship with Jesus through prayer, Bible study, and fasting? Are we allowing His character to be formed in us by releasing the 'little foxes' that gnaw at our spiritual lives—anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, and malice? The contrast between Christ's first and second advent is striking: He came first as a suffering servant, despised and rejected, but He will return as the Lion of Judah, King of Kings, with power and great glory. The message emphasizes that unforgiveness is particularly dangerous, affecting us both spiritually and physically, blocking our prayers and hindering our preparation. We're called to seek the latter rain—the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that will empower us to live victoriously above sin, just as it transformed the fearful disciples at Pentecost into bold witnesses. This isn't a time for complacency or comfort; we must be like Gideon's warriors, alert and ready, hastening toward that glorious day when we'll live with Jesus in the new earth where righteousness dwells.
